The Review of the Cookie Cake Pie

Published by Erin under Dessert, Food Porn, Review

I did try the Cookie Cake Pie…It was really yummy!!  It was super easy to make. june-2009-cookie-cake-pie-014

I think I used a smaller pie plate because I did have enough cookie dough left over to make an 8×8 pan of cookie bars, and I also have enough cake mix to make 3 1/2 dozen mini cupcakes!  In my oven it took about 45 minutes to fully cook but the color was beautiful!  I also used the confetti cake mix and I forgot to buy the sprinkles so we used crushed up MnM’s and it looked great!

Let me tell you, IT IS SWEET!  So we thought that instead of frosting maybe if you wanted to tone down the sweetness of it you could use cool whip as the frosting.  It’s definitely a do-again for this family but it is one of those recipes you only have one slice of, it is that rich with sweetness!

Photos of the entire process can be found on my blog.

I tried the recipe last night. It turned out really good and yes very sweet!! You only need a sliver. I used vanilla icing in a can that comes with the sprinkles and in my opinion it was a little too sweet. I think using the cool whip as icing would be a good option as well.
